Employment and Benefits Law (Employee Incentives)

Mairi is an associate in the incentives team, advising on the full range of employee incentive matters. This includes advising companies on setting up and administering employee share schemes (both HMRC approved and unapproved, discretionary and all-employee) and advising on employee benefit trusts. She also advises on related employee tax issues and relevant aspects of corporate transactions.

Mairi has particular experience in advising on Enterprise Management Incentive Share Option Schemes, particularly for US companies which are extending their option arrangements to UK employees. She frequently advises on the treatment of incentive schemes as part of the restructuring and takeover of companies.

After graduating from the University of Bristol, Mairi trained and qualified at Osborne Clarke in 1999. She has successfully completed a post-graduate weekend certificate course in pensions law at the University of Bristol. She is a member of the Share Plan Lawyers Organisation.
