I spend most of my time advising companies, investors and management teams on private equity buy outs and strategic venture capital transactions. I also advise on the usual corporate transactions that tend to flow from this (e.g. M&A, de-mergers and IPOs).  I have lots of experience in:

  • private equity transactions (with deal values between £10m to £500m), and
  • all aspects of venture and growth capital (series A, B, C, D, etc and pre-IPO rounds).

I focus my practice on the digital business and cleantech sectors, usually advising technology clients who want to bring the latest disruptive or "game changing" product or service to market. Every project tends to be different (and novel), which makes the work particularly interesting. 

Regardless of who I am acting for, people involved in these transactions want things done efficiently, so my role is also about seamless project management and coordination, identifying key issues and removing obstacles.  I try to offer an approach that is not adversarial.

I regularly work for over 10 institutional investors, including LDC, DFJ Esprit / Encore and Imperial Innovations.  I also act for a growing list of private companies/groups including the Davies Group, Jagex, Nujira and Ubiquisys.

I have focused on the digital business and cleantech sectors my entire career, having qualified as a lawyer at Osborne Clarke in 2000. I have been a partner since 2010.  I very much enjoy this type of work and would be interested to meet and work with people with similar interest.
