For many years, we have had an international presence and worked on transactions, commercial contracts and disputes across the world. We were among the first UK firms to merge with a German firm and to open an office in Silicon Valley in the US. Since then, we've taken regional and national businesses global and brought US and Asian businesses to Europe.
Since 1987, we have provided international legal services through an Alliance of likeminded independent firms. From Spring 2012, we have decided to start to integrate some of those relationships and extend the Osborne Clarke brand further internationally.
We'll still be working closely with our Alliance colleagues and we'll continue to grow internationally where our clients need us to be. Initially, that will be in Europe, but we'll also be looking to extend in further afield as the right opportunities present themselves.
We believe that a larger international firm will benefit all our clients benefit from our lawyers' exposure to international markets, as we make use of our insights and experience of doing business internationally in all our advice.
