Phillip advises on all employment and human resources issues but has particular interest in contentious issues and employment tribunal litigation. He acts for a wide range of clients, from major multinational plc's through to local businesses on both day-to-day HR issues and on more strategic long-term matters such as tribunal claims, re-structuring exercises and harmonising terms and conditions. His intention is to provide pragmatic and commercial advice at an early stage to avoid issues becoming contentious at a later stage.
Recent cases include successfully defending a constructive unfair dismissal and union backed protective award claim following a post TUPE transfer change of conditions and advising on several complex disability and whistle-blowing Employment Tribunal cases involving mental health problems.
Phillip trained at Mills & Reeve before joining Osborne Clarke in 1998. He became an associate in January 2000.
