As a member of the Employment department Dr. Timo Karsten provides legal guidance to national and international companies
on collective and individual employment and labor law issues. One of his main concerns is issuing strategies and implementing
of company reorganizations and restructurings including the protection of company's interests in the field of the shop's committee
and social partnerships. Furthermore, Timo Karsten has special expertise in designing and negotiating collective agreements,
a topic that he already discussed in greater detail as to wage agreements governed by the law of obligation and non-exempt
social partnership agreements in his doctoral thesis.
Timo also has sound experience in international trade law. Due to his good business connections to Northern Europe - Finnish
is his second mother language - he supervises clients from Finland and Scandinavia on their business activities in Germany
and on cross-border law issues.
Timo Karsten qualified in 2000 and started his career with renowned law firms before joining the Osborne Clarke team in the
middle of 2005. Within the framework of a secondment he also acted for one of the leading Finnish law firms. He publishes
and regularly lectures on employment and labor law issues.
