Regulatory Timeline 2013-2014: Transport

Rail

The rail network is now busier than at any time since the 1920s.  Major projects are underway to increase capacity and upgrade ageing infrastructure, whilst the Government plans to re-let around half of the current rail franchises over the next four years.

Osborne Clarke’s Rail Group is well placed to advise on the myriad legal issues facing clients across the sector.

We work across all legal disciplines and advise clients on a broad range of issues, from franchise bids and mobilisations, to fleet leasing and maintenance agreements, to infrastructure projects and regulatory issues.  Our specialist expertise in trade union and industrial relations can help diffuse potential disputes whilst our expertise in regulatory matters (including rail regulation, competition, and health and safety laws) help our clients avoid regulatory pitfalls.

  1. “Clients laud ‘the standard of railway expertise, the breadth of professional experience provided and the friendly nature’ of the team as key attributes”
