Succession and Probate Administration
We have a dedicated team who deal with estates of all sizes. Whether we are the executors or act for them, the service we provide is the same – quick, sympathetic, comprehensive and competitive.
The death of a family member is an emotional and stressful event. In administering an estate, the process of collecting in the assets and paying the liabilities, dealing with the Revenue and handling other matters arising out of the administration can be complex, time consuming and can strain family relationships. We provide the executors and the family with sensitive and efficient support to relieve their burden.
We liaise with the beneficiaries and executors and keep them informed of progress at all times. We ensure that no more tax is paid on the estate than is necessary and take a proactive role in suggesting tax saving opportunities as they arise, whilst considering the needs and wishes of the beneficiaries and helping them with their own wills and estate planning.
We deal with all types of estates and assets, but are particularly experienced in dealing with more complicated estates, such as those containing business, agricultural, foreign and heritage property.
Our fees are based either on our competitive hourly rates and the time that it takes to deal with the administration of the estate, or we can agree a fixed fee so that the executors and beneficiaries are clear what the estate administration will cost.
We offer a full service beyond the typical aspects of estate administration. We can deal with the tax affairs of the deceased to the date of their death, and will also deal with any tax issues that arise in the administration period. We can deal with the sale or transfer of property, and provide guidance if disagreements arise.
